Kindergarten
Enrolments for all three and four year olds are now being taken in our Kindergarten. Our Kindergarten session is from 8:30 am until 3:15pm with a minimum of 3 days per week required. ( In our experience three or more days is optimal as children then have regular contact with their friends and feel more part of kindy life.) We are licensed for 45 children in our kindergarten and maintain a ratio of one teacher to nine children. Our Kindy has two large playgrounds offering many varied options to entertain and challenge children as well as access to our hillside pastures unique to our rural setting.
Pukeko Room
For three year old children who still require help with toileting or afternoon sleeps, or perhaps are less confident in larger groups, we have our Pukeko room ( preschool) Licensed for no more than 20 children. This is our quieter room, we have a minimum of two fully qualified teachers and when the room is full we have three teachers. Our ratio is one teacher to 7 children. We can then give the individual attention to our children that may be required.
NB Lunch is at 12:00pm and all children are required to bring a packed lunch and water bottle.
Tui Room
Our adventurous Tuis, from 18 months to 2.5 years, enjoy stimulating art activities, play facilities and learning games in a fabulous indoor-outdoor environment that supports both their cognitive development and all the social skills they are going to need through life.
Fantail Room
Many of our children start their journey at Whitford Early Learning Centre as a Fantail. This is our under 2’s Centre for children aged from 3 months up to 18 months.
